How to win a title in Italy
Italia football club Parma has signed striker Peter Attia, with a reported fee of €2.3m.
The 24-year-old, who won Serie A’s Serie A Golden Boot in 2014 and 2016, joins the club on loan until the end of the season.
“Peter Attia is an experienced player and a proven winner, who we feel we can get very close to winning the championship,” Parma sporting director Piero Saracini told the team’s official website.
“We’ve already seen him in action in the Europa League and Europa League group stages and we are confident that he can be a valuable addition to our squad.”
The club’s former striker, who has played under Saracinis since 2015, will join his new team-mates on Wednesday for the club’s pre-season tour.
“He has the physical ability to be a strong and powerful forward, and his passing is excellent, his dribbling is good, he has the ability to break into the box and to hit a shot,” Saracii added.
“The way he is able to adapt to new situations and be a team player and always willing to learn, we believe this will be a great opportunity for him.”
Parma have also been linked with the return of Lazio midfielder Alessandro Florenzi.
The Italy international is set to leave Turin for the Italian capital next summer.
The Italian champions have not won any of their 11 games this season, and their last victory came against Bologna on December 1, after being thrashed 3-0.
Parma also face Juventus on Wednesday.
